Similar to previous seasons, the Gears 5 esports program will be open to everyone. It’ll all kick off on September 22nd. At the end of each quarter, the team with the most Challenger Points in each region, and the winner of the playoffs of each regional ladder, will be awarded travel to the upcoming major event. Additionally, the best teams in North America, Europe, and Latin America will also have the opportunity to qualify for the Gears Pro League. The league will feature four divisions: North America Alpha, North America Bravo, Latin America, and Europe. The teams will play each of their opponents twice over the course of six weeks. Following the major event, the worst-placing teams will be forced to re-qualify for their spot in the league. ELEAGUE also hosted the title’s first-ever esports tournament, which saw TOX Gaming lift the trophy. Esports Insider says: It’s great to see an esports circuit that has been put together to cater to players from all backgrounds and skills levels. With the popularity surrounding the launch Gears 5 still booming, it will be interesting to see how its esports scene grows as the year develops.
