Game of Thrones: Dragonfire Brings Back Season 3 for a New Event

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is jumping back into House of the Dragon Season 3, even though the season is already over. WB Games and HBO have dropped a new update for the strategy game, bringing back five dragons, adding new content, and a limited-time event.

Till when can you access the new dragons in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire Season 3?

Well, when I said ‘limited time’, I really meant it. The event runs only until August 24th, 2026. If you’ve been watching House of the Dragon, Dragonfire is here to keep it going a little longer.

Five previously released dragons are returning to the Hatchery for the event. They’re modelled after their actual on-screen versions, complete with their colours, distinct roars, and personalities.

The returning dragons are:

• Sheepstealer, the Legendary Hunter belonging to Rhaena Targaryen
• Vermax, an Epic Warrior and Jacaerys Velaryon’s dragon
• Tessarion, an Epic Champion belonging to Daeron Targaryen
• Sunfyre, a Legendary Sentinel and Aegon II Targaryen’s dragon
• Moondancer, a Legendary Warrior belonging to Baela Targaryen.

Each one also comes with its own passive Habit abilities, troop affinities and different synergies. You can actually build different strategies around them depending on how you like to play.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire tries to closely follow House of the Dragon’s ongoing story. The game is based on events from the show, but it isn’t simply retelling everything scene by scene. It puts you right in the middle of the Targaryen succession conflict through its Campaigns.

You’ll run into familiar locations, characters and political messes from House of the Dragon. You can fight to support Rhaenyra Targaryen’s claim to the Iron Throne, infiltrate the Greens, and just mess around with the power struggle from the inside.
