Hatch Dragons Is a New Cosy Game, Where You Collect & Care for Dragons

Developer and publisher Runaway Play Games has released Hatch Dragons, a new cosy game on mobile. It’s a pet sim that centres on the usual cycle of raising dragons, starting from the time they are eggs. You focus on nurturing, feeding and collecting them.

Hatch Dragons has a lore, too

You step into an enchanted forest that once thrived with magical creatures. Dragons previously lived throughout the woodland ecosystem and gradually evolved into forms shaped by the plants and animals surrounding them.

Some species developed glittering scales, while others became soft and furry. Certain varieties even sprouted flowers or mushrooms as part of their bodies. The forest eventually fell silent after nearby mining activity forced the dragons away, allowing a creeping fog to settle over the area for years.

Coming back to the present, you work alongside a character named Liv the Elf to lift that fog. That, in turn, encourages dragons to return. Gameplay centres on collecting and nurturing a wide variety of dragons while rebuilding the forest environment.

You can hatch eggs and raise the resulting creatures over time. Feeding them and helping them grow into bonded companions is part of the deal. Catch a glimpse of Hatch Dragons here.

The game features hundreds of different dragon species, including Cat Dragons and Bluebell Dragons. The dragons take inspiration from interpretations of the Nordic folklore. So, many of them aren’t the usual winged fire-breather image often associated with fantasy dragons.

Progress in the game involves combining elements, gems, and other materials to summon new creatures of varying shapes, forms, and rarities. You gradually uncover background details about each species, revealing bits of lore and small legends connected to the forest and its inhabitants.

Hatch Dragons is a calmer take on dragon-themed games, with lots to discover and explore. It’s a free-to-play game with optional in-app purchases. Check it out on the Google Play Store.
