BLAST Premier gets mic’d up with EPOS partnership

BLAST has announced a partnership with audio company EPOS that includes its EPOS I SENNHEISER product portfolio.

The collaboration has launched “to give fans a deeper appreciation of the vital role audio and communication plays in esports,” according to a release.

The first project to come about as a result of the partnership is “Mic’D Up,” a video series which provides fans with the opportunity to listen to the game-deciding calls made during intense moments. The series has already begun, with videos posted during the starting weeks of the BLAST Premier Spring Series.

Leo Matlock, Commercial Director at BLAST, spoke on the deal in a release:  “Together we will bring to life the many ways that audio is so crucial; the player communication, and how their internal communication lead their actions in the gameplay. To do all this with a world-renowned audio specialist who is investing in their gaming products is very exciting.”

BLAST Premier Spring Series is currently underway, with the regular season wrapping up earlier this month. The Spring Final will be held at the VTB Arena in Moscow over June 17-21th.

Andreas Jessen, Senior Director of Global Product Management & Marketing, Gaming at EPOS, stated: “We’re really excited to partner with BLAST so we can tell the story of ultimate gaming audio through this exceptional event. As leaders within audio technology, we have unmatched dedication in creating premium headsets that let you truly zone-in and feel the game, while giving you a competitive advantage by bringing out every important sound cue.”

EPOS is a joint venture between Sennheiser and Demant that rebranded from Sennheiser Communications in November last year.

Esports Insider says: EPOS and BLAST’s deal is a pragmatic addition to the endemic partnerships in Counter-Strike. The shared project, Mic’D Up, is sure to be popular if the success of similar esports content—such as Riot Games’ Mic Check—is anything to go by.
