Crunchyroll Brings Award-Winning Action-RPG Dungeons of Hinterberg to Android

Crunchyroll has added a new game to its Android Vault. It’s Dungeons of Hinterberg, the hit RPG from Austrian developer Microbird Games. There are dungeon crawling, magic, and a bunch of giant monsters in a pretty-looking, vibrant, pop-art-inspired world.

You play as Luisa, a burnt-out lawyer who decides the best cure for work stress is a trip to Hinterberg. It’s a fictional town in the Austrian Alps, where magic is the main tourist attraction. And people don’t just come for the scenery; they come to conquer dungeons.

It’s about balancing monster slaying with your vacation. Your social life also matters just as much as your combat stats. The adventure takes you across four different Alpine biomes. The first one, Doberkogel, is filled with rugged peaks and green meadows.

Meanwhile, Hinterwald brings an autumn forest with ancient secrets and winding paths. Kolmstein turns everything into a frozen wonderland where you need a magical snowboard to get around. Then there’s Brünneresel, a mysterious marshland where nature and magic collide.

There are 25 handcrafted dungeons, where you deal with platforming sections, physics-based puzzles, and environmental riddles. A spell that helps you fight in one area might end up being the solution to a puzzle somewhere else. Also, no two dungeons are the same.

Once the sun goes down, things calm down quite a bit in the Dungeons of Hinterberg. You spend your evenings visiting places like the local bar, the cinema, or the lakeside. That’s where you meet locals, fellow slayers, and even cynical journalists.

For accessibility, the game includes multiple difficulty settings along with vacation modes. Visually, Dungeons of Hinterberg comes in a vibrant cell-shaded art style that makes the Alps look like a living comic book, accompanied by a lo-fi chill-hop soundtrack.
