15 Jan GameNews Monster Hunter: World, Already Capcom's Most Successful Game Ever, Continues To Soar January 15, 2020 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment Monster Hunter: World has reached a new sales milestone, while the Iceborne expansion also continues to climb up the charts. Capcom announced in a news release that Monster Hunter: World has now surpassed 15 million copies shipped, while the meaty Iceborne expansion has climbed to 4 million copies worldwide. Monster Hunter: World is far and away Capcom’s most successful title in the company’s history. The next closest is Resident Evil 5, which shipped 7.5 million copies. The entire Monster Hunter series has now reached 61 million copies shipped. Capcom’s biggest franchise by series sales is Resident Evil, which has shipped 93 million copies. Capcom is planning to attract even more people to Monster Hunter: World through a variety of initiatives, including a new Monster Hunter: World Iceborne XR Walk attraction at Universal Studios Japan beginning this March. Additionally, Capcom is working with Hollywood to produce a new Monster Hunter film starring Milla Jovovich coming this September. Monster Hunter: World was intially released in January 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before coming to PC in August of that year. The game will never come to Switch, according to Game Informer.
