What Got Removed In The Type Soul Update?

A new dev team is leading Type Soul into a whole new era. There are apparently big plans in the works, but while we might have seen a number of new features, a lot of parts of the more recent content added by the previous team ended up on the cutting room floor. What got removed in the Type Soul update? Time to talk about it.

What Got Removed In The Type Soul Update?

Below we’ll go over everything that was taken out, briefly. If there’s compensation, we’ll discuss that, too.

Hell

Hell, the flagship feature to the last big return update is being retired. The update wasn’t massively well received at the time, though the removal has been met with mixed feelings.

Boss Raids

These special Raids involved a tough PVE fight. They’re currently shelved, but there might be a rework pending. The World Bosses are unaffected, in fact there’s a new one of those with Ikomikimodoe.

Devil Trigger

With the removal of Hell, Devil Trigger is also gone across the board. If you managed to earn it before the shutdown, you won’t have it anymore. However, you should receive a Dimensional Shard and 25 Compensation tokens to spend in the Kisuke Shop.

Ancient Vastocar

The upgraded Vastocar feature didn’t make the cut either. Like Devil Trigger, if you were able to unlock it before the shutdown, you should score a few rewards as compensation. You’ll get everything you invested into Ancient Vastocar (Yhwach’s Blood, True Hogyoku, Partial Essence, Hogyoku Ball), as well as 5 Soul Blessings, which will let you change your Vastocar variant.

True Mode

True Modes are out, for now. They might return at some point, but you will have to make do without them for the forseeable.

Vows

Vows are out. These also have some compensation built in, at least. If you had Vow Of Silence or Vow Of Sacrifice, you’ll receive a Hogyoku Ball. For all the other Vows, you’ll get 16 Locked Element Rerolls, Locked Weapon Rerolls, and Locked Clan Rerolls per Vow.

The Old Hueco And Wandenreich Maps

Wandenreich, Hueco Mundo, and Los Noches all received a massive overhaul, with the previous maps seemingly gone for good. The new maps are larger, more detailed, and have more NPCs to interact with and things to do. They also look really good, so, we can’t say we really miss anything about the old maps outside of a bit of nostalgia.

Culling Games And Soul Wars

Two PVP modes were dropped off the roster, at least for the moment. You won’t be able to play these for now. Clan Wars also got some reworks and was reverted back to an earlier version, something some players might welcome.

AFK World

Right now you cannot access the AFK World, no word on when or if this will make a return. We really wouldn’t suggest trading for World Tickets right now. Hopefully if they’re not planning to reopen the AFK World, the devs will arrange for some kind of compensation.
