About The Skeleton Key

The Skeleton key

• It can be used as a conventional lockpick, though it may break after use.
• It is the only way to open the Skeleton Door in The Infirmary. This allows you to access the Herb Of Viridis, an item that gives you regenerating health when used.
• It can open the puzzle door in the Electrical Room.
• It’s also the only way to reach The Rooms, by opening a door behind a gate in the Untitled Painting room, accessed via a hole in the wall in Room 60. You need a Skeleton Key and two Lockpicks between your party to open up The Rooms.

How To Get The Skeleton Key

You can find a Skeleton Key in several different ways.

• You’re guaranteed to find a Skeleton Key for sale in the Jeff Shop in Room 52. The key costs 300 Gold.
• The Skeleton Key can spawn in conventional containers throughout the Hotel with a small chance of appearing. If you find one in the containers on the way to Room 52, you won’t be able to buy a second Skeleton Key, you can only hold one at any one time.
• While you can’t have more than one Skeleton Key on your person, you can throw the Skeleton Key into The Rift to retrieve it later.
