How To Find The Safe

First, you need to get access to the bedroom. You get this key from a shelf in the storage area. Once you get the key, you can access it from a door in the dining room.

Inside the bedroom, you should see a large painting on the wall. Interact with it and it should swing back to reveal a safe. Be careful though. If you interact with it after completing the objective to pick up $30,000 in valuables, the power will go off, and you’ll need to go to the basement to replace the fuse. How To Find The Safe Key

To open the safe you need a key, and it’s hidden in the house, in plain sight in fact. Head to the lounge and the fireplace. If you’re at the stage in the chapter when you need to search for the key, you should see a mannequin pointing towards the fireplace. This is a clue.

If you look into the fireplace, you should see something hanging right at the back, behind the fire itself.

Now look where the mannequin is pointing. You should see a button on the side of the mantlepiece. Interact with it to turn off the fire. With that, you can grab the key from the back of the fireplace. Now you can help yourself to the contents of the safe, and snag the best ending.
