The month-long programme, which is fully remote, aims to give students a chance to see the behind-the-scenes of an esports organisation. The goal of the programme is to help students learn more about potential career paths in the space and provide networking opportunities. According to a release, each week a different department within Gen.G will host the educational programme for at least five hours, allowing participants to gain a more complete vision and understanding of how a team operates. At the end of the programme, participating students will also receive a $500 honorarium. The application process will open from May 23rd until June 10th. Students will be selected by June 20th with the program running July 8th through August 2nd. A final exhibition will also take place on August 5th. Gen.G has invested heavily in the educational space in recent years, particularly within the United States. Aside from creating programmes such as The Next Gen Fellowship, the esports organisation has developed the Gen.G Global Academy across three locations (Seoul, Los Angeles, and Shanghai). The organisation has also partnered up with institutions such as the University of Kentuchy and Warwick University to expand its presence in the educational space further. Arnold Hur, CEO of Gen.G., commented: “Gen.G continues to offer students and administrations opportunities to develop their esports and gaming paths. The Next Gen Fellowship is a chance for students interested in our industry to get their feet wet. “We are proud to add this fellowship to our incredible educational offerings, from our ongoing support of the Gen.G Collegiate Network of esports clubs to our recent successful Campus Takeover event at the University of Kentucky.” Davide Xu Source link Facebook Twitter Google Email Pinterest
