The basketballer will “support the growth and continued global expansion of ReKTGlobal and Rogue” through co-hosted live streams, content, and partnerships.

Amish Shah, Co-founder of ReKTGlobal discussed the news in a release: “Rudy’s a phenomenal fit for ReKTGlobal. A passionate and longtime gamer, Rudy also brings a strong business acumen and fresh ideas to the table. As he’s been wanting to invest in esports and get more involved in the gaming industry, we are honored that he selected ReKTGlobal to partner with, and we are excited to have him on board as our first traditional professional sports athlete.”

Personality, streamer, and competitor Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo recently entered a multi-year contract expansion with ReKTGlobal. The deal sees him act as the face of Rogue through appearances, live streams, and activations; he received equity in the company as part of the agreement.

Gobert also commented on the venture: “My passion for gaming is well-known among both the Utah Jazz and my team in France. I’ve wanted to invest in and get more involved in esports for a while, and I’m really excited to make history with the ReKTGlobal family. For years now, I’ve used gaming to unwind and relax during the season. It’s also how I manage to keep up with my friends when I’m on the road. I’m especially looking forward to playing with the new Call of Duty franchise team before they begin competing next year.”

Gobert joins the likes of Nicky RomeroMarco “Tainy” Masís, Lex Borrero, members of Imagine Dragons, and DJ Steve Aoki as a celebrity that has invested in the group.

Esports Insider says: ReKTGlobal has certainly done a good job in acquiring a roster of celebrity investors, a trend we’re seeing more and more of in esports. We hope Gobert truly has solid involvement in the company beyond investing in the company as that could help with the crossover of traditional sports and esports more than just being an investor.
