13 Sep eSport The NUEL extends Riot Games partnership for next academic year September 13, 2019 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment The NUEL and League of Legends developer Riot Games have announced a renewal of their partnership for the new academic year in the United Kingdom. The renewal will see Riot Games provide direct support for the League of Legends University Series, which will be entering its 10th year. Logo Credit: The NUEL The tournament is designed to give students, no matter their skill level or experience, the opportunity to participate. Over 300 teams from 124 universities took part in the 2018/19 season. Josh Williams, Founder and Managing Director of The NUEL discussed the renewal in a press release: “After nine years of running League of Legends activities, and five years of direct partnership with Riot Games, we are delighted to be able to extend this relationship further. Our number one priority is supporting students to build communities, make friends, and have unforgettable experiences around gaming, and we’re looking forward to working with Riot Games to keep adding more unique activities and opportunities for students to get involved in.” Riot Games and The NUEL will continue with their ‘Realms’ series, which comprises of live events held on UK campuses. Each event focuses on a different region of the League of Legends universe, Runeterra. The events allow students to meet fellow players and win exclusive League of Legends merchandise.
