Plan Your Path, Snatch Shiny Gems, and Escape Ancient Ruins in Grabby Crab

Grabby Crab has launched on mobile, bringing a path-planning puzzle adventure from solo developer Tepes Ovidiu. Apparently, it took the developer a really long time to finish the project, with level design being one of the biggest challenges during development.

And in case you’re wondering about other games by the developer, the list isn’t short. Their previous titles include hits like Almost Out of Mana, Is This Yours?, and Cessabit: a memory game. Now, with Grabby Crab, the developer seems to lean into a Stephen’s Sausage Roll kind of experience.

Who’s Grabby Crab?

A determined little crab whose life revolves around stealing sparkling gems from cursed ancient temples. You have to guide it through ancient temple chambers, figure out your route, and grab the gemstone. Most importantly, you have to make it to the exit portal before you’ve accidentally destroyed the very path you needed to escape.

Every move matters because the floor isn’t exactly reliable. Some tiles crack, some break, some disappear completely, and others change the way you have to think about the entire puzzle.

There aren’t any timers counting down. But you need thoughtful planning and logic, with grid-based puzzles that gradually become more difficult. If you do get completely stuck, hints are available to help you move forward.

Things get more complicated as you progress, too. Ancient guardians can mark, block, or even destroy parts of the board, forcing you to rethink your path. Gem curses twist the rules for individual levels, while relics let you restore paths or reshape your escape route.
