New Zealand-based esports tournament organiser and production company LetsPlay.Live (LPL) has been acquired by Singaporean gaming media company Dynasty Gaming and Media (Dynasty).

According to a release, the acquisition will allow LetsPlay.Live to expand its suite of services across tournament organisations in several notable games.

LetsPlay. Live is a notable tournament organiser in the Oceania region. The company has been organising esports events since 2015 and has worked with Riot Games on the VALORANT Challengers Oceana, with KRAFTON for the PUBG Challenger APAC and the PUBG Asia Supercup, and with Epic Games on the Oceania FNCS, among other events.

The acquisition makes Dynasty Gaming and Media a very strong regional player when it comes to tournaments and gaming in general. The company is known for its gaming platform that combines tournaments with real-money gaming, casual games and esports.

The value of the overall acquisition was not shared by the two companies, but Dynasty’s Co-Founder and CEO Matthew Lodge commented that LPL’s tournaments will “drive substantial traffic, users and revenue” to its platform.

Duane Mutu, Director of LetsPlay.Live, commented on the acquisition: “LPL has enjoyed a hugely positive experience working with Dynasty and their leadership team to date, and as we came to understand their strategic direction, it became obvious that this was the perfect opportunity to advance LPL to the next level.

“In being able to leverage Dynasty’s platform and  international footprint, we can now look forward to fulfilling our long-held goal of taking the best of Oceania  esports and gaming to the world.”
