Gwent: The Witcher Card Game’s Way of the Witcher Update Adds New Cards, Lore, and More

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, the addictive card-battler from CD Projekt, has just received a hefty new expansion.

The Way of the Witcher DLC adds a new mechanic, some lore, and a whopping 70 cards. There are ten of these cards per fact, plus ten neutrals. Among these cards is Hybrid, which gives you a boost of 1 whenever you consume a unit, and Quen, which lets you play a witcher.

Thanks to the new Adrenaline system, meanwhile, you can get additional effects depending on how early or late you play a given card during a round. For instance, if you play Quen when you have three cards in your hand you’ll be able to give the witcher you play a shield for extra protection.

On top of all that, The Way of the Witcher adds the ability to gift goodies to your in-game friends. Though why you would want to do that is beyond us.
