Whale Trail Classic, From Monument Valley Dev ustwo, is Half Price on Android

ustwo games, the studio behind the hugely popular Monument Valley series, has slashed the price of Whale Trail Classic by half. You can download it right now for $1.99, down from its usual price of $3.99.

Whale Trail was ustwo’s only major game before Monument Valley, and it was a hit among critics thanks to its addictive casual gameplay, vibrant art-style, and original soundtrack from Super Furry Animals founder Gruff Rhys.

Gameplay-wise, it sees you tapping the screen to keep a flying whale in the air, collecting glowing orbs, dodging clouds, and pulling off backflips.

Unfortunately Whale Trail didn’t perform as well as it deserved to commercially, leading ustwo to release a free-to-play version called Whale Trail Frenzy that was, inevitably, not as good.

Whale Trail Classic is an absolute joy, however, and it’s well worth a punt at $1.99. Download it right now on the Google Play Store.
