Zaxby’s dines with High School Esports League for Spring Major


The High School Esports League (HSEL) has announced a partnership with American fast-casual restaurant chain Zaxby’s for a marketing promotion.

Zaxby’s will award prizes for the HSEL’s Spring Major 2020 championship series, with winning players eligible to win a $250 Zaxby’s gift certificate each week of the “Fastest Fingerz” prize campaign.

Mason Mullenioux, Co-founder and CEO of High School Esports League, commented in a release: “The HSEL Spring Major just keeps getting better and better thanks to the charitable contributions of companies like Zaxby’s. Zaxby’s believes in the importance of esports in schools and the impact it brings to the lives of young adults. Now more than ever, we must align with partners that are passionate about the futures and well-being of our youth. We look forward to arming our competitors with college scholarships and some tasty food!”

Participants in the Spring Major 2020 compete to win up to $1,000 (£806.80) in college scholarship funds in each of 12 online games. Zaxby’s will supplement that prizing with a weekly $250 (£201.70) Zaxby’s gift certificate to a single team during an eight-week campaign, along with three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.

Zaxby’s operates more than 900 restaurant locations across 17 states. The company will also sponsor the HSEL National Championship Tournament, which will include a Zaxby’s Fastest Fingerz award ceremony presented in partnership with the Varsity Esports Foundation.

The HSEL Spring Major 2020 competition spans play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA 20, Fortnite, Hearthstone, Madden NFL 20, Minecraft, NBA 2K20, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
