04 Nov Mobile Gaming REDMAGIC 12 Pro Review – Another Step Up? November 4, 2026 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment Another REDMAGIC product, and this time a Pro version of its latest smartphone. The 12 Pro has a lot to live up to, considering we called the 11S Pro a “genuinely fun phone to spend time with.” So let’s not waste anymore time shall we? Let’s dive into exactly what you’re getting from this latest model, including new features and specs. Out of the box The REDMAGIC devices are well known to us of course, and they’re mostly loved thanks to their focus on catering for gamers. This latest iteration is no exception, offering a range of top level specs. We’ve listed a few below for you in fact: RGB Liquid Cooling: this keeps the phone at a safe temperature without sacrificing the eyecatching aesthetics. There’s also the latest AquaCore Cooling System 3.0, keeping the phone running and quiet whilst you play Slimmer Design: This one is slimmer than other models, with a more rounded body 185Hz Display: That’s an impressive number, trust us. The G1 Display Control Chip means this has the best looking screen we’ve seen yet on a smartphone. 9th-Gen Camera: It’s not the most powerful camera in the world, but still packs a punch and more than does the job Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6: Offering polished resolution and frame generation across multiple games FPS Gaming: This lets you bring AAA Gaming onto a phone without any downsides Iconic Cooling System: To help protect the phone, retain battery life, and keep me in the zone, the REDMAGIC 12 Pro has its latest AquaCore Cooling System 3.0, keeping the phone running and quiet whilst I play. 8,400mAh Battery And how does it hold up? Fortunately those stats above aren’t just pointless numbers on the screen. We really felt like the REDMAGIC 12 Pro was made with us needing to game a couple of hours each day. That includes some pretty top-end mobile titles too, and still at the end of each day we had power to spare. It never overheated either, thanks to the liquid cooling mentioned above. The way the phone looks is impressive too. The futuristic aesthetic means this feels like a phone already ahead of many of its rivals. It doesn’t sacrifice that for being clunky or uncomfortable to hold either. Instead we never felt any discomfort after playing for over an hour, no mean feat for a mobile device trust us. What else? There’s a range of gamer friendly features too, such as the AI Gaming Assistant. We had mixed feelings about this, even though AI seems to be integrated into everything nowadays. It does help you with games you’re finding tricky, and can even play idle games for you. This won’t be for everyone, but is undoubtedly helpful and does help keep the phone on the cutting edge. Something less divisive is the Game Space, a hub and shortcut to all games on your REDMAGIC device. That’s whether it came from mobile, PC, or Steam. It basically makes it much easier to dive into the exact game you want, a massive plus in our eyes. Loading times are shorter too, and it makes it simple to record what you play. You can activate the feature in-game too by swiping from the top left or right side of the screen. Then there’s the Host Mode, which lets you play PC titles by connecting the phone to the monitor. It’s actually very easy to set up, which caught us by surprise. It’s not a massive step up in many ways, but if you’re looking for a phone to play games on you won’t do much better. Find more about the phone via the REDMAGIC website here too. Conclusion: Overall there’s little to complain about with the REDMAGIC 12 Pro. It offers the usual gamer friendly REDMAGIC experience just another step up. Score: 88 out of 100 The post REDMAGIC 12 Pro Review – Another Step Up? appeared first on Droid Gamers.
