Joseph Jang promoted to 100 Thieves VP of Esports

North American esports organisation 100 Thieves has officially promoted Joseph ‘JungleJuiceLoL’ Jang to VP of Esports. The announcement was made by Jang on social media.

According to Jang, he will continue to be involved with 100 Thieves’ League of Legends LCS team until the organisation “eventually increase their footprint in gaming and esports”.

Jang has been working with 100 Thieves since the end of 2017 when he joined as the organisation’s Academy Director. Throughout the years, he has covered various roles within the organisation, most of which have been focused on the organisation’s League of Legends division.

This includes roles such as head analyst, strategic coach and head of strategy and analytics. Throughout the last two years, Jang has been working as 100 Thieves’ General Manager.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to work closely among some of the best in the industry across different verticals in the business and I feel more ready than ever to tackle new and ongoing challenges in the industry,” said Jang on social media.

Earlier this year, 100 Thieves announced that founding executive and current President and COO John Robinson has moved to an advisor role within the company. Following the leadership change, Chief Financial Officer Jason Ton became the new Chief Business Officer, with Jacob Toft-Andersen promoted to President for Esports and Julie Van named the company’s new COO.

On the business side, 100 Thieves has been active commercially in 2024. Last month, Oakley was announced as an exclusive eyewear partner of the organisation. Meanwhile, 100 Thieves teamed up with Adidas Original to create a merchandise collection.

100 Thieves, however, has undergone some structural changes over the last 12 months. The esports organisation encountered a round of layoffs at the end of 2023 which saw both its game development studio and energy drink brand, Juvee, be spun off due to running several high-cost ventures. The company’s energy drink brand was later sold to Sprecher Brewing.

Nonetheless, 100 Thieves continues to be active across several esports titles, including VALORANT, League of Legends and Call of Duty. In particular, its VALORANT squad will at minimum finish in the top four at the VCT Masters Shanghai.
