The MotoGP eSport Championship begins with six online challenges, with the top 72 players from those progressing into a Pro Draft. From there, 12 will be selected to advance to the Global Series where each will represent a MotoGP team.

The inaugural online challenge will span June 19th-23rd and will run through to August 1st, when the Pro Draft begins. The first live event will be during Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, including two races around Mugello and Aragon. The next live event hasn’t been disclosed the grand final will take place alongside the MotoGP’s final event at the ran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana .

MotoGP eSports Championship entered a multi-year partnership with electronics brand Lenovo in August last year. Acting as the exclusive technology sponsor of the competition, Lenovo is its sole provider of PCs, monitors, and peripherals.

Esports Insider says: With the Formula 1 and MotoGP fully embracing their own versions of esports, there’s a lot to look forward to for gamers who enjoy motorsports. Hopefully this year’s changes have a positive impact on the championship and both participation and viewership go through the roof this time round.
