Pinnacle enters partnership with SpecialEffect

Curaçao-based sports betting provider Pinnacle has entered a partnership with UK-based charity SpecialEffect for the remainder of 2019.

The deal includes the sportbook’s donation of headline sponsorship advertising at ECS Season 7 Finals, which takes place over June 6-9th.

Paris Smith, CEO of Pinnacle discussed the deal: “We’re incredibly proud to announce our partnership with SpecialEffect. We have such a strong connection with the esports community and when discussions about this opportunity began, it was one we couldn’t wait to get off the ground. SpecialEffect really are one of the unsung heroes in the world of esports and video games. They deserve a bigger platform to spread their message and we’re so happy to be able to help with that.”

The partnership also saw Pinnacle supply SpecialEffect with tickets for the finals – which is hosted at the SSE Arena in London, UK – for fans that the charity works with. The betting provider will also work with SpecialEffect outside of ECS on fundraising and other projects.

Mark Saville, Communications Coordinator at SpecialEffect commented: “We’re very grateful to Pinnacle for the opportunity to align awareness of our life-changing work even closer to the esports platform. There’s a natural fit between esports and our mission to help gamers with physical disabilities, and I’m looking forward to our partnership leading to many more people being able to enjoy the magic and inclusion of video games.”

FACEIT brought in Pinnacle as the official betting partner for seasons 7 and 8 of ECS. The Challenger Cup was renamed the ECS Pinnacle Cup as a result.

Esports Insider says: We’ve seen first-hand just how great the work is that SpecialEffect does, so we’re happy to see Pinnacle – and FACEIT indirectly – get involved with the charity.
