The EWC 2027 Qualifier Program connects established competitions and local events with the global tournament’s qualification system. It adds EWC Direct Qualifiers for existing competitions and Satellite Last Chance Qualifiers for community organisers. How the qualification routes work Under EWC Direct Qualifiers, organisers continue to run and fund their tournaments, keeping their event identity and local commercial opportunities. Their competitions must meet EWC and publisher standards, while providing players with an official qualification pathway. The Satellite Last Chance Qualifiers are open to local tournament organisers, national esports federations and associations, internet cafés, universities, esports venues and gaming festivals. Partners can connect an existing event or create a new competition under its own identity, with marketing support from the Foundation. Winners of a Satellite LCQ earn a place in the relevant game’s EWC Last Chance Qualifier the following summer, where they will compete for a main-event spot. The Foundation will provide accommodation and visa support for winners attending that competition. The routes add to existing ways players can qualify for EWC, including fighting-game qualification events. Eligible games, standards and deadlines The initial Satellite LCQ lineup covers Chess, Counter-Strike 2, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves and Street Fighter 6, with more titles to follow. Both routes must meet publisher requirements and EWC competitive standards covering tournament rules, anti-cheat measures, officiating and verification of results. Approved events must finish by June 1, 2027, giving organisers a fixed window to stage competitions and complete their qualification campaigns. What comes next for Road to EWC 2027? The Road to EWC brings together publisher-led leagues, international tournaments and regional qualifiers on the route to the Esports World Cup. The new program is designed to draw more established competitions and local esports communities into that structure, while allowing partner events to retain their own identity. The Foundation will announce Direct Qualifier partners, participating tournaments and the number of qualification places available in each game as preparations for Road to EWC 2027 progress. Organisers must submit applications by December 20, with approved competitions concluding by June 1, 2027. Source link Facebook Twitter Email Pinterest
