Solitaire World Tour: Klondike Launches on Mobile with Watercolour Scenes

Solitaire World Tour: Klondike took the most common card game and gave it a fresh spin. oneWheat, a solo developer based in Japan, has released the free Klondike solitaire game on Android. You play solitaire, earn your fare, buy a plane ticket, and travel through 34 cities across Japan and Korea.

You start in Tokyo, and every city you visit becomes the background for your solitaire board, with all of the locations drawn as watercolour scenes. There are 22 cities in Japan and 12 in Korea. And each completed game gives you coins and one piece of trivia about the city you’re currently staying in.

The trivia collection is pretty big. There are 10 pieces of trivia for every city, which comes out to 340 in total. All of it is written in both Japanese and English.

The travelling is directly connected to the cards. Keep playing in the same city and you’ll eventually be able to buy its postcard, get your passport stamped, and move on. Once you’ve saved enough coins, you can choose a destination on the world map and spend your fare to fly there.

The farther away the city is, the more the trip costs. Cities you’ve already visited stay marked on the map too. And you can trace your whole journey as a flight path.

Solitaire World Tour: Klondike keeps you busy

So, the game has postcards, passport stamps, trivia and the watercolour city scenes to collect along the way. You can look back through everything you’ve picked up on the journey screen. There are also three characters based on the court cards who guide you through the game and hand over the postcards.

The game has no timer and no score. Hints are free and unlimited, and Undo is also unlimited. It works completely offline too. Built for one hand in portrait mode, the game is free to play with ads, but there are no in-app purchases.
