Knightica Is a Turn-Based Roguelike Auto-Battler, Out Now

Knightica takes a roguelike auto-battler and throws it into a fantasy kingdom. There, you build armies, mess around with unit placement, and collect demonic souls. The turn-based roguelike auto-battler comes from developer Mad Mango Games, with GoblinzPublishing publishing it.

Knightica is cutesy

You can recruit units of all shapes and sizes, and each creature has its own unique powers. You have to arrange, rotate, and place your troops properly to get the most out of their abilities. The game has many viable builds and lets you get creative.

You can go in completely different directions with your army, too. Maybe you build a whole undead squad, maybe you put your faith in the magician’s guild, or maybe you discover some strange combination that just destroys everything.

Your commander matters as well, with multiple Commanders available and each one bringing unique mechanics. On top of choosing your commander and troops, you’ll also be picking up items and deciding which path to take during a run.

So, you might come across a strange shop and have to decide whether it’s worth stopping there, or you can skip it and test your army against an elite demon instead. Every run gives you new chances to experiment with powerful combinations.

Knightica centres on PvE. You’ll be leading your army through increasingly difficult worlds, dealing with varied enemies and terrifying bosses. There’s an Arena too, where you can prove yourself against legendary commanders and face many different strategies.

You can also approach your strategy in different ways. Upgrade your troops if you want stronger individual units or swarm enemies if you prefer throwing an entire army at the problem. Or search for that one perfect ally to complete your build. Or you can focus more heavily on your economy.

Visually, Knightica goes in a cute art style direction, kind of a funny contrast while gathering demonic souls and fighting terrifying bosses. The game is now available on the Google Play Store for free.
