Pokermancer Is a Poker-Puzzle Roguelite, Out on Android Now

Another Balatro-inspired title has hit Android. This one is called Pokermancer, the debut title from indie developer Selador. While it has the heavy card aesthetic and flashy effects of its inspiration, it differs by leaning more towards spatial puzzles and path-building.

Pokermancer actually has a lot to offer

You drag paths through a 4×4 board of cards, connecting them horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to create poker hands. Instead of the usual draw-five-cards structure, you try to figure out which path squeezes out the best score.

There’s almost always a pair sitting somewhere, but pairs barely do anything unless your build specifically turns them into monsters later on. You aren’t just making a flush or a straight; you need to figure out the exact route your finger should travel across the board.

Every time cards get cleared, new ones fall into place from the deck. You can spend Energy to swap cards around during runs, too, so sometimes a dead board suddenly becomes a full house if you shuffle things correctly.

Between rounds, you can head into a Break Room. You can spend gold earned during runs on Trinkets, Consumables, Cards, Items, and Billiard Balls. The last one is a weird modifier that can permanently alter cards in major ways. Consumables are one-use effects that can alter the board directly by changing, deleting, or improving cards.

Trinkets are the main build-crafting system in Pokermancer. Some reward long paths, some boost specific suits, some retrigger cards, some generate cash, and others only activate under very specific conditions. Some even scale upward the more you use them.

Meanwhile, there are multiple hazards in Pokermancer

Some cards are frozen, some are burning, some are cursed, some are cracked, and some are statically charged. There are fog effects that prevent cards from either starting or ending chains. Stone blocks sit there clogging the board until they fall low enough to break apart.

Boss rounds show up every fifth stage and completely mess with the rules. There are more than 25 boss conditions. The game has five tables total, with difficulty escalating across all of them. Once you clear them, Overtime mode unlocks and starts tightening resources with more complications.

Pokermancer is now available on the Google Play Store. The first two tables are free to play before a single $4.99 purchase unlocks the full game. The game works in Airplane Mode, too.
