Doomsday: Last Survivors Joins Forces With Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045

Zombie survival sensation Doomsday: Last Survivors has launched an exciting team up with seminal cyberpunk franchise Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045.

There are rewards up for grabs as you’d expect, but the main draw here is the Shell: Cyber Pursuit event – which somehow seamlessly meshes the two franchises together.

No mean feat considering that Doomsday is a zombie focused survival experience, and Ghost in the Shell is set in a dazzling cyberpunk world.

But it works, and this is a collaboration we’re excited to tell you about. Let’s dive in. 

Classic combo 

There are five all new modes available thanks to this team up, and each one is pleasingly different from the last. 

First is Posthuman Crisis, which sees you take part in massive 10vs10 battles. You’re randomly assigned to either the Section 9 or Posthuman faction, with the winner being the one who defeats the opposition’s Tachikoma.

Then there’s Global Network, which centers around a network-themed reward system. Here you fill data nodes, with the ultimate reward being unlocking prizes, including exclusive items like a Motoko Kusanagi Hero Skin.

Next is Section 9 Training, where you’re given daily missions that help you grab even more rewards and EXP.

Section 9 Reunion is also available and asks you to reunite members of Section 9 by completing a series of challenges. 

Last up is 1A84 Virus Study. This mode stars some humans that have almost become zombies instead being transformed by Posthumans into Experimental Subjects – a lethal new combat unit. The gameplay sees you completing puzzle stages where you must uncover targets and eliminate clue icons to progress.

Rewards aplenty

As mentioned there are heaps of rewards available here, including:

There’s a website set up for the event here as well, with further information on even more modes such as Virus Purge Operation – where you get half a minute to eliminate emerging viruses – and a Homecoming Event, which asks you to invite friends to help you complete missions. 

Merchandise

There’s some rather nifty exclusive merchandise created for this team up too, with the Doomsday: Last Survivors x Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Exclusive Collaboration Collector’s set offering a range of cool but also highly practical items. 

This includes a plush toy, fridge magnets, t-shirt, a colour-changing cold cup, and an umbrella – all boasting an incredible combination of the unique styles of both Doomsday: Last Survivors and Ghost in the Shell.
