Dawnmaker is a new deckbuilding game on Android. Acram Digital, the publisher of Concordia, Stone Age, Istanbul and Set a Watch, has brought it to mobile. The title is developed by Arpentor Studio, a company based in Lyon, France.

A turn-based blend of city building and deckbuilding

The game exudes the feel of a solo board game. It’s set on the continent of Heksiga, a land smothered by a toxic Smog that has drained it of light and life.

Your goal is to rekindle ancient magical lighthouses, which act as both the heart of your city and the key to pushing the Smog back. As the lighthouse improves, new building space opens up. It allows cities to slowly expand into areas that were previously uninhabitable.

Dawnmaker treats both city construction with deckbuilding as equally important. You construct buildings, generate resources, and gain new cards, all while refining a deck that grows more powerful alongside the city.

Cards and buildings interact in multiple ways, encouraging careful choices to form strong combinations. So, you’re effectively managing two decks at once. One focuses on resources and the other on buildings.

Space is limited, so placing buildings efficiently is crucial, especially when trying to repel the Smog and reclaim territory region by region. Farms, industries, scientific structures, and cultural buildings all play a role in sustaining growth and inspiring the population.
