Many revisions have been made to the core gameplay experience, all of which are highlighted in the Steam blog post. These are the most significant changes with Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. Gameplay Changes Image credit: 1047 Games Portals have been adjusted to be more manageable in-game. A player can now place both portals on a single wall to prevent enemy use; portals can be shut down with EMP Grenades, and players leave trails when entering a portal. Factions, abilities and select equipment have been removed from the game. 1047 Games has introduced map pick-ups, including legendary weapons and power-ups, to more closely emulate the arena shooter experience and become more competitive. New weapons have been added to the game. These include the Railgun power weapon, a new light machine gun archetype introducing the classic Velocity, burst-fire Strata, and close-range chaingun Barrage. The mode pool has been tweaked in Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. Classic Arena mode makes its debut, bringing even starts and fixed loadouts similar to the original Splitgate. Additionally, players can fine-tune which modes they wish to player through the Mode Select feature. Five new arena maps have been added to bring the map pool to 20 as of the release of Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. These include new additions such as Hammerhead, Terra-13, and Abyss, and the return of older maps such as Karman Station and Oasis. A practice range has also been added to the game. Quality of Life Changes Image credit: 1047 Games Progression has also been revised following player feedback. Career Levels consist of 75 Rookie levels, alongside 1000 Challenger levels across 10 tiers. Moreover, quality of life changes have been added, making Proelium into a progression currency, adding player stats, and introducing daily login rewards. The store has been adjusted in light of the removal of factions. As such, players who made purchases during Splitgate 2’s initial run will be reimbursed with in-game currency, ranging from 5-400 Splitcoins for every purchase. 1047 Games also shared improvements to audio, performance, map creator and the in-game UI. What Happened to Splitgate 2? Splitgate has undergone a tumultuous journey in the past year, from PR challenges to player frustrations. Numerous beta-tests have been held since then, with the last playtest held from November 22nd to 23rd, 2025. Splitgate: Arena Reloaded is the culmination of a six-month-long development cycle seeking to improve the portal arena-shooter experience. Source link Facebook Twitter Google Email Pinterest
