European esports organisation OG Esports will be launching an esports documentary series called ‘Origins’ in partnership with betting company 1xBet.

The series will go over the personal and professional lives of OG Esports’ athletes and is set to premiere on May 23rd, 2024.

Divided into episodes, Origins will explore the players’ backgrounds and all the elements that have brought them to success, shining a light on personal stories and giving a more ‘human experience than ever before’. Fans will be able to see exclusive premieres, interviews and footage, with subsequent episodes released later this year.

The first episode will feature Matthew ‘Ari’ Walke a 21-year-old professional Dota 2 player from Exeter, UK.

This is not the first time OG Esports has produced its own documentary series. Previously, the company worked on ‘Road to TI’, going over the team’s journey to Dota 2’s The International. The Origins series has been created based on the back of the previous series’ success.

“At OG Esports, we are always striving to showcase the human side of esports,” said Dan Sanders, Chief Commercial Officer of OG Esports. “With ‘Origins,’ we want to offer our fans a deeper connection to the players they admire and pay tribute to the incredible journeys that have made them who they are today.”

Founded in 2015, OG Esports is mostly known for winning The International in 2018 and 2019 with its Dota 2 team. The organisation also runs a Counter-Strike 2 and a Rocket League team. In 2021, the team also formed a VALORANT division, forming a partnership with British esports organization, LDN UTD, in May 2022. The team, however, disbanded a few months later after it failed to make it to the EMEA Valorant partnered team league.
