Conor McGregor Enters the Mobile Games Business with Dystopia: Contest of Heroes

Conor McGregor, the colorful and controversial UFC superstar, has decided it’s time to become the face of a mobile strategy game.

Dystopia: Contest of Heroes, from developer Beetroot Lab, is a real-time strategy game in which players from all around the world will compete in regular tournaments for real-world prizes.

Beetroot Lab describes Dystopia: Contest of Heroes as a “mid-core” strategy game, with a progression system aimed squarely at casual gamers and even non-gamers.

You’ll start by seeking out a location for your rebel base in a post-apocalyptic future where society is ruled by corporations. Next you’ll have to build a presence, expand your empire, raid other players, upgrade your base, and all that stuff.

The game supports alliances of up to 100 players, with what sounds like an EVE Online-level of virtual society, involving economic growth, war, and so on.

But the main attraction seems to be the tournement platform hosted by Conor McGregor. Tournaments of various kinds will take place daily, weekly, and monthly, and prize include signed merchanise and a meeting with Notorious himself.

You can download Dystopia: Contest of Heroes for free right now on the Google Play Store.
