Best New Android Games and Sales: TMNT Mutant Madness, Hidden Through Time, 60 Parsecs!, and More

It’s been a fairly slow week, with only one major new release: the inevitable free-to-play TMNT gacha game. The most exciting news is that Microsoft’s xCloud service has gone live, giving Android phone users with xBox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions access to a whole new world of high quality gaming. Provided there isn’t too much lag.

Sale-wise, there are some gems on offer, including the hilarious and addiction 60 Parsecs!

New Games

Published by Kongregate, TMNT: Mutant Madness is a hero-collecting action-RPG based on the world’s most bonkers cartoon premise. Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Splinter, and host of other characters – more than you can remember appearing in the show – all feature in this free base-building idle RPG.

Not one game but over 170, all of them played on Android but streamed from powerful servers elsewhere. As long as you’re an xBox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber you’ll have access to titles like The Outer World, Shadow of War, The Witcher 3 on your humble little smartphone.

Published by the ever reliable Crescent Moon Games, Swordshot is a graphically simple retro arcade game in the same vein aesthetic vein as Undertale, Minit, and Downwell. It sees you shooting projectiles from the end of a sword, unlocking skills, and having vintage larks.

More pixelart fun. This time you’re a spider trying to escape from an underground complex. The twist? You can’t go backwards, and move forwards automatically. Being a spider, that means vertically and upsidedownly as well as horizontally. You acquire new abilities as you go.

Sales

There are those who would dismiss Hidden Through Time as an inferior imitation of Hidden Folks, but that not entirely fair. Boasting full color scenes, a custom level maker that lets you share your creations, and a nifty chronological gimmick, it’s a solid game in its own right – and half price right now.

You’ve got 60 seconds (not parsecs, which are a unit of distance) until your space station explodes, Gather what and whom you can and eject into the void of space. That’s the starting premise of this deep, fun, humor-filled interstellar roguelike. A bargain at 99c.

A fairly frequent flyer in the discount aisle, Lovecraft’s Untold Stories is a highly acclaimed action game based on the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. It’s set in the Cthulhu Mythos, and sees you rampaging through various environments killing bad stuff.

It was difficult to know whether to file this under “sale” or “update”, but here we are. Cytus II has just received a new update with a Deemo crossover event, Deemo being another rhythm action game from Rayark. The update adds ten tracks, including a brand new one. And the game has gone free to celebrate.
