MSE is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the U.S., operating sports teams such as NBA’s Washington Wizards, NHL’s Washington Capitals, and WNBA’s Washington Mystics. The company also operates several esports organisations, including Wizard District Gaming in NBA 2K League and Team Liquid.

The company’s latest venture, Caps Gaming, launched in November 2019 to “help foster the growth of the NHL competitive gaming community and create visibility for hockey’s esports scene.”

Esports Insider says: Both partners have joined forces during exciting periods of growth and transition between Scuf Gaming’s acquisition by CORSAIR and MSE’s launch of Caps Gaming for NHL fans. With traditional sporting events on hold due to COVID-19, esports based on traditional sports can be an effective way of keeping those fans engaged during lockdown.
