Participants will compete in a double round-robin format, with each playing 18 league matches in a single season. The total prize pool of the competition is INR 1,85,000 (£1955), with the victor receiving INR 50,000 (£528) and their own trophy.

ConnectIN Esports is broadcasting FIFA Pro League India matches live on YouTube and uploading the highlights of each game the next day – supplemented with behind-the-scenes footage on YouTube and Esportznow.

The PM-CARES Fund, which is associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, will receive donations from the revenue created through the league. This includes revenue from live broadcasts, sponsorships, and social media platforms.

Dhruv Khanna, Co-founder of ConnectIN Esports, spoke on the league in a release: “We are extremely pleased to announce the launch of the FIFA Pro League India for the top athletes in the country. Apart from earning bragging rights for being the best FIFA20 player in the country, each of these athletes will also win attractive prizes. We are also glad that we contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic that is affecting all of us.”

Esports Insider says: It’s great to see esports organisations in India making an effort towards PC titles, titles such as FIFA have been away from the spotlight – despite having potential – with mobile esports being more prominent.
