Stephanie Winkler, Strategic Marketing Manager at HyperX discussed the sponsorship in a release: “We are excited to extend our support for the PUBG community, from the FACEIT Global Summit and PUBG Nations Cup to the PUBG Global Championship. Providing our HyperX peripherals, we aim to demonstrate how professional-grade gear greatly empowers PUBG gamers while enhancing their gaming experience.”

As an official sponsor of the tournament, HyperX will provide headsets, keyboards, and mice for the event. The deal was brokered by sports marketing and entertainment agency Lagardère Sports.

Julian Schwartz, Central Esports Business Development Manager for PUBG Corp. added: “HyperX has been a very important part of PUBG Esports this year and we are very pleased to announce that they will be a part of the PUBG Global Championship in a major way. Esports requires many different pieces of hardware – and here at PUBG Esports, we do not compromise on quality. HyperX is a uniquely great partner as they can provide an array of items and peripherals without compromising quality or style.”

PUBG Global Championship is the culmination of the first official season of PUBG esports. The group stage of the tournament begins on November 8th with the grand finals taking place on November 23rd-24th at the Oakland Arena.

The event was supposed to have team-branded in-game items with revenue sharing for each of the teams in attendance but this initiative was cancelled, as reported by Esports Insider.

Esports Insider says: After a turbulent first season, it’s good – if not a little surprising – to see HyperX continue its support of PUBG esports. It’ll be interesting to see whether it continues its sponsorship into the second season of competition, presuming there will be one.
