OpTic Gaming Los Angeles announced for Call of Duty League

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles has been announced for the upcoming Call of Duty League, confirming that the iconic brand will still exist.

Owned by Immortals Gaming Club, the franchise’s name, logo, and official colours have been revealed – and they’re not particularly surprising.

Unlike with the other franchise announcements, there’s no explanation for the brand from the league – mostly because this particular brand doesn’t need one. OpTic Gaming has had many dominant rosters over its tenure in Call of Duty, and remained the most popular brand in the series throughout.

Its roster, managed by Eric “Muddawg” Sanders, includes Brandon “Dashy” Otell, Thomas “TJHaLy” Haly, Kenny “Kenny” Williams, Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat, and Jordan “JKap” Kaplan.

London Royal Ravens was the first brand to be announced for the Call of Duty League, with Dallas Empire, Los Angeles Guerrillas, and New York Subliners right behind it.

Franchises yet to be revealed are as follows: Atlanta Esports Ventures’ Atlanta, NRG Esports’ Chicago, Misfits Gaming’s Florida, WISE Ventures’ Minnesota, c0ntact Gaming’s Paris, Enthusiast Gaming’s Seattle, and OverActive Media’s Toronto.

Esports Insider says: It’s no surprise to see OpTic Gaming as a brand remain in Call of Duty, it was just a case of seeing in which form it’d be utilised. The name is certainly a mouthful but we can’t imagine anybody will be trying to refer to the team as anything but “OpTic Gaming” – the brand that’s effectively synonymous with Call of Duty esports.
