Bren Esports opens esports facility in the Philippines

Southeast Asian organisation Bren Esports has revealed the opening of a 2,000 square metre esports training facility in the Philippines.

Situated at the Nexus Center in the Makati Central Business District, the facility contains 11 practice rooms, a recreational area, a production area, and a gym.

Leo Andrew Escutin, COO at Bren Esports discussed the new facility: “We want to stray away from the typical ‘gaming house’ setup where the team would eat, sleep, and train in the same area – 7 days a week. This facility will enable them to train as athletes and still enjoy a life of their choosing after training.”

Other rooms in the facility include an admin area, a viewing lounge, a board room, and a cafeteria. Players will also have access to personal trainers and sports psychologists in order to develop and assist in their physical and mental well-being.

Bren Esports has partnered with gaming hardware company ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) to equip the facility with hardware and peripherals for players to use throughout their stay.

Robert Osorio, Marketing Manager for ASUS Philippines also commented: “It was a great opportunity for us to provide Bren Esports with the powerful equipment they needed to train and reach maximum performance. Our partnership with them is a firm indication that we are here to support and elevate Philippine esports.”

In March, fellow Southeast Asian organisation Team Flash partnered with the Singapore Sports Hub to create an esports training facility integrated on the grounds.

Esports Insider says: The facility will benefit local teams and will likely be used for international teams that are competing in the area too. There’s a trend involving these esports facilities and it’ll be interesting to see just how beneficial they prove to be in a few years.
