Gears POP! Will Officially Launch August 22 on Android

The upcoming collaboration between Gears of War developer Epic Games and the Funko POP! characters finally has a release date: August 22.

So as soon as this week we’ll finally get a chance to get our grubby little mitts on this intriguing mobile battler.

Gears POP! Allows You to Create a Powerful Team of COG Soldiers and Locust

In terms of gameplay, Gears POP! seems to borrow heavily from the likes of Clash Royale. You’ll put together a team of heroes and villains from the Gears franchise and battle other players in real-time.

For the first time ever, COG soldiers will battle alongside the Locust as everyone puts aside the war for a minute. You can mix and match your favourite characters, units, and troops to create an effective team.

Then there are your Ultimate abilities, which can seriously turn the tide of a losing battle. These include the Emergence Hole, which unleashes a ton of Wretches on the battlefield, and we’d be incredibly surprised if the Hammer of Dawn didn’t make an appearance.
