Minichamps 1:43 BMW M Coupe Diecast Model Car 400029060 On September 20th 1995 the first BMW Z3 left the production facilities. The production of the Roadster began with the 1.8 and 1.9 litre engines. This version was shown in the James Bond Movie “GoldenEye”. In 1996 the 2.8 litre straight six engine was introduced, among others it is differentiated by wider rear fenders, as well as running lights in the front bumper.

One year later the Z3 M Roadster was introduced. The engine came from the M3 E36 and was 3.2 litre straight six engine with 236kW (321HP). There were additional changes to the engine, suspension, exhaust system, electronics, body and other visual details. The mirrors, the trunk and the front spoiler were changed. The design of the mid console was modified and additional instruments were added.

In October of 1998 the Z3 Roadster 2.8 engine was modified by adding a double VANOS, while keeping the same cubic capacity, which resulted in the adjustment of intake and outtake valve control to the RPM and the load ration. This resulted in a better flow of the torque curve as well as 1kW more in power.

In August of 1998 a shooting brake model was added to the range. This closed version was equipped with the already known six straight engines They were offered as the Z3 Coupé 2.8 (later called Z3 Coupé 3.0) and the M Coupé. The design of the Coupé was controversial and was widely called “sneaker”.
