Super Auto Pets-Like Lunchbreak Tactics Launches on Android

Lunchbreak Tactics is a strategic auto-battler card game set in the backroom of a supermarket called Anymart. Developed by Borealys Games, it’s now out on Android. The story kicks off when a bunch of supermarket employees get way too bored during their lunch break and turn slacking off into an actual competitive card game.

So, you’re the newest trainee at Anymart, which is the most mundane job on Earth. Instead of doing anything remotely productive, you’ve got a weird card game to keep you entertained. What starts as a casual way for employees to escape boredom eventually turns into an all-consuming obsession across the store.

Lunchbreak Tactics takes some inspiration from games like Hearthstone and Super Auto Pets, but it’s built around asynchronous autobattler gameplay. You put your squad together, figure out some ridiculous synergies, and then let the battles play out against other players.

Your goal in Lunchbreak Tactics is to become the Ultimate Slacker of the Month

Also known as the Employee of the Month ultimate card master. At the beginning of every run, you pick one Hero and two Clans. Your Hero comes with a passive power that can shape your entire strategy, while your two chosen Clans determine which cards you’ll actually be able to use.

Then, you spend gold to buy and upgrade units, freeze cards you absolutely don’t want to lose, and throw items onto your team. The game has twelve rounds in each run.

Lunchbreak Tactics takes ordinary supermarket products and turns them into actual units. Toilet paper? Weapon. Slow cooker? Also a weapon. Basically, if it’s sitting on a shelf at Anymart, there’s a chance it can be dragged into battle. These living versions of common household and store items also come with all sorts of strange synergies.

Lunchbreak Tactics is available on the Google Play Store. The free-to-play lite version gives you access to two Heroes and two Clans. If you want the complete package, you can unlock everything for $5.99.
