05 Aug Mobile Gaming Lumines Remastered Brings the Classic Audio-Visual Puzzle to Mobile August 5, 2026 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment If you ever owned a PSP, this title will be pure nostalgia for you. Lumines Remastered is out on Android, bringing one of the most iconic puzzle games back to mobile. It’s the updated version of the original 2004 PSP classic that went on to win a bunch of awards. Never heard of Lumines before? Well, it’s a block-dropping puzzle game, but with a twist. Blocks fall in pairs with only two colours, and your goal is to line them up into 2×2 squares. Once you make a square, it stays on the board until a moving timeline sweeps across and clears it away. Honestly though, the puzzles are only half the reason people love the game. The music and visuals are its selling points. Every move you make blends into the soundtrack, and you’re constantly surrounded by house, trance, and techno tracks. As you progress, the backgrounds, called skins, change along with the music; the block colours swap, and even the sound effects for rotating and dropping pieces change too. Now, Lumines Remastered keeps all the classic skins, music, modes, and unlockables. So, then what’s new in Lumines Remastered? The mobile version has been built specifically for phones and tablets too. You can pick between several touch control layouts, or just hook up a controller. It’s still the same game designed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Lumines Remastered includes 40 music-filled stages, Challenge Mode, Time Attack, Puzzle Mode, Mission Mode, VS CPU, and local two-player Battle Mode. There’s also Skin Edit mode, which lets you shuffle stages around like a music playlist. You can unlock every stage, soundtrack, and avatar, compete on online leaderboards, and use cloud saves so your progress follows you across devices. Lumines Remastered is free to try, letting you play the first 15 levels in Challenge Mode and the full 60-second Time Attack Mode. You can unlock the full game for $7.99 on the Google Play Store.
