Poinpy Launches on Mobile as a Free Title, No Netflix Needed!

Poinpy is back, and this time you don’t need a Netflix subscription to play it. Publisher Devolver Digital has brought the colourful platformer back to mobile. The game originally launched in June 2022 as part of Netflix Games on Android.

It became quite a hit due to its fun gameplay, clever mechanics, and colourful design. But that run came to an end in June 2025 when Netflix removed the game after its exclusive licensing deal expired.

Developed by Ojiro Fumoto under his developer pseudonym Moppin, Poinpy is the second collaboration between him and Devolver Digital after the success of Downwell. Now, let me tell you more about the new quirky little vertical climber.

Yes, the best part about the comeback is that you neither need any subscription nor do you need to pay any money. The game is now 100% free. There are no ads and no purchases required to play. If you end up loving it and want to support the developer, you can leave a tip, but that’s completely optional.

As for the gameplay, that stays the same. Poinpy is a vertical climbing platformer where you play as a little green dinosaur. It makes its way through procedurally generated, vertically scrolling levels packed with fruit, strange creatures, and plenty of obstacles.

Right behind you is a hungry blue beast that’s always chasing from below. The only way to keep it happy is by grabbing fruit as you climb and smashing it into juice for the creature. You’re constantly trying to stay ahead while collecting whatever fruit it demands before turning it into juice.

You hold your finger on the screen to line up a jump, adjust the direction, and let go to launch, kind of like aiming a shot in Angry Birds. Poinpy can bounce off walls, flip through the air, and even perform mid-air jumps.
