Crunchyroll Adds KinnikuNeko: Super Muscle Cat to Its Android Game Vault

It’s a weird 2D platformer about a muscular cat, who might as well participate in a WWE championship. KinnikuNeko: Super Muscle Cat is now coming to mobile, courtesy of Crunchyroll. The game originally released on PC in March 2024. It’s developed by Kamotachi.

A muscular cat. An alien invasion. Save humanity.

So, KinnikuNeko is a bodybuilder cat, trying to deal with an alien army that has captured humanity. All humans are gone, scooped up by some unknown alien force. Now, it’s up to this cat and his absurd strength to fix it.

But there’s Lemon and Keita, who are still around and somehow haven’t been captured yet. They tag along for the ride while everything escalates into a goofy but oddly emotional story.

With classic 2D platforming gameplay, KinnikuNeko: Super Muscle Cat also has a lot of mini-games and little twists in between. You punch, you climb, and you meow. You get a basic three-hit combo, a knee dive aerial attack, a downward slide attack, and a roll.

The story is full of goofy humour, but it does involve some friendship and drama beats. Why did the aliens invade Earth? What brought them here, why capture all humans, and honestly, the biggest question the game keeps poking at is why is this cat so buff?

The villains are right in line with the tone as well. General Pitaya is a sleek and ferocious antagonist, along with her two minions, constantly making things harder as you go through different levels. There’s a lot of personality in the game, trust me.

Visually, KinnikuNeko: Super Muscle Cat has a retro 90s anime vibe. There are a ton of references that fans of older anime will probably notice immediately. Take a look at it right here!

You can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store. It’s available to Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan Memberships. They plan to release the mobile version on May 31st, 2026.
