Wager like Poker and Trade like Catan in Duper: Social War Game, Out Now

Duper means someone who deceives or tricks others, and that’s what this new title is all about. Duper: Social War Game is now available on Android. It’s the debut project of developer Curio Research. Technically, it’s a 5-player social strategy game that combines trading, deception, and card play.

Duper: Social War Game draws inspiration from multiple well-known genres and titles. Apart from Poker and Catan, it has other elements, such as strategies of TFT, battles of Starcraft, and conspiracies of Diplomacy.

Bluffing and strategy go hand in hand

A real-time PvP game where participants build their economy, trade resources, form alliances, and attack rivals. Each session typically lasts between 15-30 minutes. You begin with a capital tile and aim to maximise profits.

The activities involve constructing centres, engaging in combat, negotiating trades, and coordinating or deceiving others. You can achieve victory in three different ways: reaching the required tile count, holding a straight flush, or being the last player standing.

However, Duper: Social War Game also introduces the idea that winning outright is not always the most profitable path. You can actually end up earning more by assisting another competitor’s victory.

Duper: Social War Game lets you manage three primary resources

They are Gold, Cards, and Gems. You control four base unit types, which are Infantry, Tank, Plane, and Fort. Progression is further supported by three research centres focused on Economic, Plane, and Fort upgrades.

You are able to directly message each of the other four participants during a match. Additional systems include earning Chips either by winning directly or by acquiring the winner’s gems and Emblem cards that provide gameplay buffs.

Duper: Social War Game has multiple modes. It’s free to play, and you can access it fully through Casual, Custom, and Playground modes. However, Ranked mode introduces real money into the experience. Get it from the Google Play Store.
