Fruit Ninja-Fame Halfbrick Studio Launches Jetpack Joyride Racing on Mobile

Fruit Ninja and Dan the Man publisher Halfbrick has finally launched Jetpack Joyride Racing. After multiple delays, the fast-paced multiplayer game that’s based on the popular mobile franchise is now out. And it brings some weird features as well. Keep reading to get the full scoop.

The game offers real-time races with up to six players, where drifting, well-timed boosts, and track awareness determine outcomes. It has a Party Mode that allows you to group up with friends. Races unfold across four unique circuits with chaotic elements like drift-heavy corners and reactive track hazards.

They include special Zones that alter the flow of a race in an instant. Such as the Slow Zone in purple that reduces momentum. Or the Cutout Zone in red that disrupts control by cutting engines. There’s also a Charge Zone in green that temporarily enhances speed while boosting a player’s Special Ability.

The roster brings all the recognisable characters in the series. You’ll find Barry Steakfries, Dan, Josie, Professor Brains, and Robo Barry. That progression is built around collectible cards and a seasonal reward track.

Will you race in Jetpack Joyride Racing?

The racing in the game offers controls that are easy to learn and require precision to master. Matches are quick to enter, and the moment-to-moment gameplay emphasises finding optimal racing lines.

Now, there’s one weird thing about the game. The card collection mechanic, which is central to unlocking rewards and customisation, connects to the Halfbrick+ app. Instead of being handled entirely within the game, you’d need to download and use this separate app to open card packs and manage their progress across Halfbrick titles.

And if you’re unwilling to install an additional app, you’ll be disappointed to know about this. Options for upgrading or changing vehicles and characters are limited, effectively leaving you with default setups.
