RuneScape Drops the First Part of Havenhythe, Its Biggest Area Expansion till Date

Jagex has rolled out the first part of Havenhythe in RuneScape. It’s a new region that’s apparently the biggest area expansion the MMORPG has seen in its 25-year history. It brings exploration, skilling, and smaller-scale stories to the title.

This release is only the first half of the expansion, with the second part arriving later in 2026. Part 1 kicks off a new quest series, and its wilderness expands the Hunter skill, pushing its level cap up to 110. The update also adds two new boss encounters and introduces fish farming as a new skilling activity.

New encounters task you to track giant creatures across the region while staying hidden and avoiding detection. Successfully completing these hunts rewards additional Hunter XP and materials that you can use to craft high-level ranger armour. The update also adds a clockwork trapping method that allows multiple creatures to be caught using a single trap.

Next, it brings two main story quests called Visions of Havenhythe and Hearts of Sanguine. There are also two standalone quests included in this part of the expansion. Wiz Kid follows a child named Ben who wants to become a wizard despite his parents not supporting the idea. And Hermit Permits has you helping the crabs of Wendlewick, Havenhythe’s largest settlement, deal with a housing problem.

Players in the 40–50 combat level range also get new challenges in Silverquill. Two new bosses are available here: the Dreadhog and Ivar, King of Bones. These fights introduce combat mechanics such as telegraphed attacks, weapon pairing, and protection prayers.

Lastly, fish farming in Havenhythe works as an alternative to traditional fishing spots. You can stock between one and four pools using starters like level 45 lobsters and level 55 swordfish. Once a pool reaches full population, you can harvest it, but the system is not completely passive.

RuneScape is available on the Google Play Store.
