Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy Drops New Launch Trailer Ahead of Release

Square Enix has shared a launch trailer for Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy ahead of its rollout on Android and iOS next week. It’s a 3vs3 team boss battle arena game set in modern Tokyo. Also, it’s the sixth title in the Dissidia Final Fantasy spin-off series.

The game’s official release is on March 24th, 2026

In present-day Tokyo, a towering crystal suddenly materialises and quietly becomes part of everyday life. But that fragile calm doesn’t last. A strange energy begins to corrupt the crystal, giving rise to hostile creatures like Godzilla.

As the situation deteriorates and fear spreads, unidentified fighters begin appearing in response. They step in to battle the threats before vanishing just as quickly. With their identities hidden, these figures earn the nickname Ghosts among the public.

Two opposing teams enter an arena populated by roaming monsters, each side attempting to bring down a central boss faster than the other. There’s cooperative play with a race-like pressure. Combat incorporates a range of abilities that you can equip and adjust.

The character lineup pulls from well-known figures in the franchise. It includes Warrior of Light, Cloud Strife, and Lightning, with more coming over time. Each fighter fits into roles such as Melee, Ranged, Agile, or Support.

The main story is fully voiced in Japanese and unfolds through both larger story sequences and smaller chat-style episodes. The latter shows quieter moments from the cast’s daily lives in the modern setting.

You can dress characters in either their original outfits or new clothing suited to the modern world. You can also collect music tracks drawn from across the franchise, and adjust personal profiles. Communication tools and shared spaces are also included.
