Indian-Infused Dustpunk Deckbuilder Nowhere Prophet Makes Its Mobile Debut Worldwide

No More Robots has dropped a new mobile game, Nowhere Prophet. The award-winning deckbuilder lands on Android after being on PC since July 2019. A bit like Griftlands, the game blends roguelike deck-building with grid, or sometimes circle-based tactical encounters.

Travel the wasteland in Nowhere Prophet

The game is set on Soma, a distant planet struggling in the aftermath of an event known as the Crash. It’s a total technological collapse that left civilisation fractured.

It’s a science-fiction post-apocalypse inspired by Indian culture. You assume the role of a mystic leader gifted with technopathy, the ability to sense and influence electrical currents.

You need to guide a group of outcasts and refugees across harsh, procedurally generated wastelands. The ultimate objective is to reach the Crypt, a mysterious destination that holds untainted technology and safety.

Cards serve a dual purpose in Nowhere Prophet. They are actions you use in battle, and they also represent the followers who travel in your convoy.

As new followers are recruited or lost to the wilderness, the deck shifts accordingly. Followers can form bonds over time, and when they fall in battle after taking too many wounds, they are gone permanently.

Travel and combat form the two core layers of play. On the overworld map, you chart routes while managing resources that keep the convoy moving. Along the way, encounters with strange places and strangers can result in difficult decisions that affect the fate of the group.

You can earn rewards through helping others or taking more ruthless options. You can improve the deck, recruit additional followers, equip the Prophet, or unlock stronger action cards through levelling and new skills.

Sharkbomb Studios is the developer of Nowhere Prophet. It’s the first self-published mobile game by No More Robots. They’ve previously worked with Noodlecake to adapt Descenders and Yes, Your Grace for mobile.
