Japanese Gameshow KASSO Gets an Endless Runner KASSO GAIDEN: Escape from the Skaterverse

Japanese skateboarding TV gameshow KASSO is now on mobile as a game. But it’s an endless runner called KASSO GAIDEN: Escape from the Skaterverse. Now Production has developed it, while the TBS Games label of Tokyo Broadcasting System Television has published it.

Run…?

KASSO GAIDEN: Escape from the Skaterverse translates the televised obstacle spectacle into a high-speed rhythm action game. The premise places skaters inside a strange, other-dimensional realm known as the Skaterverse after being swallowed by a distortion in space-time caused by a spirit.

In this world, your memories take physical form, shaping courses that double as battlegrounds. Armed only with skateboards, competitors race forward in an endless skateboarding challenge. A single mistake can trap you in a retro neon lo-fi universe for eternity.

Moment-to-moment play centres on rapid movement and split-second reactions. You select from 43 different boards and navigate hazards that include lava pits, incoming traffic, falling spikes, and floating platforms.

Along the way, you can execute 35 distinct tricks to earn style points while attempting to carve a path back to reality. It’s super-speed traversal with simple controls and stages with a dark, otherworldly atmosphere.

KASSO GAIDEN: Escape from the Skaterverse is an endless runner, but with rhythm game elements

Sound notes appear throughout each course. You need to collect them on beat in sync with a level’s soundtrack. Success across all seven street courses unlocks exclusive board designs and three bonus characters. Catch a glimpse of the game below.

KASSO GAIDEN: Escape from the Skaterverse arrives as a free-to-download and free-to-play release on the Google Play Store. You can unlock the full game through a Complete Pack purchase for $3.50. Meanwhile, KASSO is preparing for its first-ever US obstacle course event in Long Beach, California, on March 21st-22nd, 2026.
