Battlefield 6 And Redsec Update Addresses Movement, Audio Issues, And More

A new Battlefield 6 update is planned for February 3, and the patch notes detail changes focused on quality-of-life improvements across Battlefield 6 and Redsec battle royale. This includes map adjustments, audio improvements, and small movement fixes.

Battlefield Studios continues to make improvements following the delay of Season 2, and the developer says this update has a “particular focus on smoothing out edge cases reported by players.”

One of the major changes detailed in the patch notes is a fix for inconsistent player movement issues, including cases of excessive sprint-jump momentum and unintended behavior. The developer says the adjustment won’t impact player movement on a large scale and is instead meant to target those specific extreme cases.

Several visual adjustments arrive to Season 1’s Eastwood map. This includes a fix for an issue where destroying a building near the A flag can cause unintended green or purple visual effects across nearby structures. It also corrects visual issues around the B flag, where destroying certain structures can either cause a total lighting blackout or excessively bright lighting to appear.

The update will also address the bug that can cause the UAV Drone enemy detection audio to be heard by all teammates instead of only the drone’s operator.

For Redsec, the update resolves an issue where battle royale initiation matches do not end after the player eliminates the final AI opponent. It also addresses a bug that can cause parachute deployment to remain linked to the jump leader after breaking off.

The full patch notes for the update can be found below, as shared by the developer.

Battlefield 6 recently added the new Frostfire bonus path to the Season 1 battle pass, bringing new cosmetics and XP boosters to earn. The developer also gave the first look at Season 2’s upcoming multiplayer map called Contaminated.
