Physics-Based Spider Sandbox A Webbing Journey Launches on Android

A Webbing Journey has made its complete arrival on Android today. After its demo, which was launched in 2022, passed 3.5 million downloads, the full mobile version is now out. A physics-based sandbox adventure game, it’s also available in Early Access on Steam.

The game actually started as a simple physics-driven experiment about moving through space with silk. Developed by an indie studio Fire Totem Games, the latest mobile version has reached feature parity with its PC counterpart.

A Webbing Journey is a sandbox first and a task-based game second

In the game, you control Silky, a small spider navigating an oversized house. He uses webs to traverse rooms, manipulate objects, and assist his human roommates with chores that are intentionally disproportionate to a spider’s size.

Everyday activities like baking cookies, doing dishes, or watering plants become physics puzzles when approached from the perspective of a creature that moves on walls, ceilings, upside-down surfaces, and even underwater.

Each room introduces its own mechanics and characters. You’ll find spaces like the kitchen, attic, office, and living room having distinct identities in spite of being part of a single interconnected house.

Speaking of the house in A Webbing Journey, it’s more of a dense playground, filled with hundreds of physics-based interactive objects. You can move, break, or link together almost everything with webbing. It allows you to build structures from wall to wall or floor to ceiling.

The web-swinging system encourages free movement, and the emphasis on experimentation lets the environment react visibly to player actions. Over 100 unique tasks and oversized chores are spread throughout the game.

A Webbing Journey supports exploration by a wide range of hidden elements, with countless secrets distributed across the house’s seven distinct rooms. Customisation lets you adjust Silky’s appearance with accessories like hats and shoes, along with different levels of fluffiness and colour options.

The Android release includes two extra levels beyond what was previously available, along with 3 sandbox levels. The game follows a free to start model, with levels available either as individual purchases or unlocked through watching ads. Check it out on the Google Play Store.
